Evolutionary aspects of financial engineering in the world securities markets

Abstract
The article analyzes the evolutionary aspects of financial engineering in the world securities markets. It has been established that the development of financial innovations dates back to the 1920’s with the development of the securities market itself. The great depression led to the need to strengthen state regulation, which lasted until the 1970’s. Due to rising interest rates, financial resources were directed from bank accounts to the securities market. The influence on global financial markets of different crises is determined. The causes and consequences of the global financial crisis of 2007–2008, and their role in financial engineering are analyzed in detail.
