Examining Values Education from the Perspective of Class Teachers: Sample of Erzurum

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine values education in terms of various dimensions according to teacher opinions. In accordance with the case study of qualitative research designs, 27 class teachers were interviewed. As a result of the interviews, the values of the teachers; They define the behavior patterns, ethical rules, customs, traditions, customs and cultural characteristics that are provided by society and approved by society; The most important values that should be given to the students; Honesty, respect and responsibility; The most effective element in gaining value is the family; Problems arising from the family come from the problems that are experienced in gaining the values; It is stated that drama is the most preferred activity for gaining values. In addition, for effective value education, it is suggested that teachers give quality seminars on value education.
