Examples of cone-beam computed tomography (CBTC) application in dentistry

Journal Title: Prosthodontics - Year 2012, Vol 62, Issue 6

Abstract

New x-ray imagining technologies offer new diagnostic possibilities. They allow the clinician to make the treatment more accurate, predictable and safer. X-ray examination with use of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) provides the opportunity to see hard tissues in three dimensions. The most important benefit arising from the examination is the possibility of obtaining a huge amount of information, pseudo-three-dimension reconstructions and different cross sections in any plane and measuring the examined object.
