Experimental of tensile creep behavior of in-plane ±45° plain and stain woven of basalt fibers reinforced phenolic polymer composites at elevated temperature

Journal Title: Journal of Science and today’s world - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 5

Abstract

The research shows the effect of two parameters of temperatureand loading in creep behavior of polymer composite made out of phenolic resin and basalt fibers in laboratory form in which the fibers have oriented with 45 degree angle. Also the fibers include two kind of plain weave and stain weave. The polymer matrix has been reinforced with basalt fibers. The material under consideration has been made by hand layup . It includes phenolic resin and basalt woven fabric. The volume fraction of fibers and matrix are respectively 22.54 and 77.46.All tests have been done by creep rupture testing machine. The laboratory temperatures stand between 25 and 27 centigrade degrees. The length increscent is basis on tensile force and temperature and the information has been registered at accuracy of 0.01 millimeter.Every sample has been taken with two loadings of 3.8 and 6.5 Mpa under three different temperatures of 100, 150, and 200 centigrade degrees. The manufactured composite has been studied experimentally and the characteristics of various parameters of temperature and stress are resulted by testing. The test results have been compared in this article.
