Experiments and results of local area pseudolites augmented GPS

Abstract
Many survey conditions such as urban canyons, deep open-pit mines and valleys, limit the number and geometry distribution of visible satellites, which degrades the survey accuracy and give bad positioning precision in vertical direction. The technique of Pseudolites (PL) augmented GPS is provided in this paper in order to strengthen the area positioning precision. Base on the combination model of PL augmented GPS, study the error estimation of PL multipath effect. The result received by dealing with the data of real observations demonstrates that the developed methodology effectively reduced the error caused by PL multipath effect, also improved survey accuracy, in particular the accuracy of a vertical direction.
