Factores del riesgo crediticio en una cooperativa de ahorro y crédito, en la emergencia sanitaria de la COVID-19

Abstract

El sistema financiero es un componente fundamental de la economía nacional, está conformado por instituciones financieras públicas y privadas, y su finalidad se centra en la intermediación financiera. En la emergencia sanitaria de la COVID-19, la exposición del sistema financiero a la materialización del riesgo crediticio fue prácticamente inevitable. De ahí que, este trabajo se desarrolló para identificar los factores de riesgo crediticio de una cooperativa de ahorro y crédito del segmento 1, en el contexto de la pandemia. Al ser una investigación cualitativa, no experimental, descriptiva y transversal; para la recolección de datos, se aplicó una encuesta estructurada a socios y una entrevista a ejecutivos de la institución. Además, mediante trabajo de campo se analizó documentación que aportó con información valiosa y se complementó con una exhaustiva revisión bibliográfica. Los resultados revelan que se han incrementado notablemente los factores de riesgo crediticio, internos y externos. Los internos, se evidencian en: baja operatividad del core bancario, deficiencia en originación del crédito, concentración de cartera, limitada gestión de recuperación y desconocimiento sobre las políticas de crédito; los externos, están determinados por: pérdida de empleo de los socios, suspensión de actividades escolares, restricciones de movilidad a nivel nacional, inminente reducción de ingresos familiares. En tal sentido, se concluye que, la cooperativa de ahorro y crédito objeto de estudio no tomó las medidas necesarias para mitigar oportunamente los factores de riesgo crediticio internos y reaccionó con cierta lentitud a los factores de riesgo crediticio externos en la pandemia de la COVID-19.
