FALLACIES AS PRAGMATIC STRATEGIES IN THE POLITICAL SPEECH

Abstract
Fallacy as the disruption of strategic maneuvering can be defined as the process of representation of a false argument for supporting and strengthening, with purpose to persuade. However, fallacy is an extensive topic that has been considered from different points of view. There exist certain gaps and shortcomings in some studies from the pragmatic aspect. Thus, many pragmatic aspects associated with fallacies, as well as the pragmatic structure and strategies utilized in their representation, were not given due importance. The article attempts to overcome these shortcomings. It is about defining a pragmatic structure and a pragmatic strategy of fallacies in the political speech. The conclusion arrived at consists of the view-points that a fallacy is the process consisting of several stages. Each stage is distinguished by its pragmatic components and strategies.
