Fatigue Analysis of Acetylene converter reactor
Journal Title: International Journal of Modern Engineering Research (IJMER) - Year 2014, Vol 4, Issue 10
Abstract
The structural integrity of mechanical components during several transients should be assured in the design stage. This requires a fatigue analysis including thermal and structural analysis. As an example, this study performs a fatigue analysis of the acetylene converter reactor during arbitrary transients. Using heat transfer coefficients determined based on the operating environments, a transient thermal analysis is performed and the results are applied to a finite element model along with the pressure to calculate the stresses. The total stress intensity range and cumulative fatigue usage factor are investigated to determine the adequacy of the design.

Application of Analysis of variance and Chi- square to study diamond industry
Chi -square is a statistical test commonly used to compare observed data with data we would expect to obtain according to a specific hypothesis. For example, if, according to Mendel's laws, you expected 10 of 20 of...

Introduction of distributed generation modifies the structure of power system network. High levels of penetration of distributed generation (DG) are new challenges for traditional electric power systems. A powe...
Characterization, Classification and Standardization of Fly Ash of Kosovo Lignite-Fired Power Stations as Industrial Construction Product
Kosovo generates around 6000 GWh of electrical energy annually. Over 97% of this is produced by lignite-fired power-plants and less than 3% by hydro-plants. The lignite combustion, around 8 Mt/a, besides the emission of...
