Fazekas Leukoariaiosis: A Rare Case Report

Journal Title: International Journal of Medical Research Professionals - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 2

Abstract

Leukoariaiosis is a particular abnormal change in appearance of white matter near the lateral ventricles. It is often seen in aged individuals, but sometimes in young adults. It increases the risk of stroke, dementia and cognitive impairment. On MRI, leukoariaiosis changes appear as white matter hyper intensities (WMHs). A case presenting to the Pediatric outpatient clinic of a teaching tertiary care hospital is reported here.
