Fear and reasons of children in preschool<p>Okul öncesi dönemdeki çocukların korkuları ve nedenleri

Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the fears and fears of the children who are going to kindergarten and to make suggestions about the innovations in education programs and policies related to this situation. The research has been carried out in qualitative research methods. The study group consisted of 48 children attending kindergarten in Mersin. The data of the study was obtained by a semi-structured interview form consisting of two parts. In the first part of the interview form, there are two questions that aim to determine the gender and age of children's personal information. In the second part, there are two questions which are prepared to determine the fears of children and their reasons for these fears. The first of these questions is "What scares you? The second was formed as "Why?" The questions in the semi-structured interview form were asked to the child and given enough time to answer. Interviews with each child took about 5-8 minutes. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained from children. As a result of the research, it was determined that the fears of children attending the kindergarten were gathered under four themes as "Animals (20)", People (3)", Extraordinary (Realistic) Assets (7)" and Other (10). Fears of animal contact were found to be more intense fear in children's lives. Animal fears stem from animal-specific behavior. People in the main theme, a father figure, two school friend and cheat sub themes are sub-themes related to children's negative experiences. Fears of the main theme of extraordinary (unrealistic) assets; it was found that the media, which directly influenced the child such as cartoons and children's games, were caused by frightening elements. The sub-themes related to the fears in the other main theme are based on real life and it is determined that there are sub-themes that the child may face while maintaining his / her daily life. ÖzetBu araştırmada, anaokuluna devam eden çocukların korkularını ve korkularının nedenlerini belirleyerek, bu duruma ilişkin eğitim programları ve politikalarında yapılabilecek yeniliklere ilişkin öneriler geliştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgu bilim deseninde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Mersin ilinde anaokuluna devam eden 48 çocuk oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri, iki bölümden oluşan, yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Görüşme formunun ilk bölümünde çocukların kişisel bilgilerinden cinsiyet ve yaşını belirlemeyi amaçlayan iki soru yer almaktadır. İkinci bölümde ise çocukların korkularını ve bu korkuların nedenlerine ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanmış iki soru yer almaktadır. Bu sorulardan ilki “Seni neler korkutur?”; ikincisi ise “Neden?” biçiminde oluşturulmuştur. Çocuğa yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formunda yer alan sorular sıra ile sorulmuş, yanıtlaması için yeterince zaman verilmiştir. Her bir çocukla yapılan görüşme yaklaşık 5-8 dakika sürmüştür.Çocuklardan elde edilen verilerin incelenmesinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, anaokuluna devam eden çocukların korkularının “Hayvanlar (20)”, “İnsanlar (3)”, “Olağanüstü (gerçekçi olmayan) Varlıklar (7)” ve “Diğer (10)” olmak üzere dört tema altında toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Hayvanlar temasına ait korkuların çocukların yaşamlarında daha yoğun korku unsuru olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hayvanlara ilişkin korkular, hayvan türüne özgü davranışlardan kaynaklanmaktadır. İnsanlar ana temasında bir baba figürü, iki okul arkadaşı ve dolandırıcı alt temaları çocukların olumsuz yaşantılarından kaynaklanan korkulara ait alt temalardır. Olağanüstü (gerçekçi olmayan) varlıklar ana temasına ait korkuların; çizgi filmler, çocuk oyunları gibi çocuğu doğrudan etkileyen medyanın korkutucu öğeler içermesinden kaynaklandığı bulunmuştur. Diğer ana temasında yer alan korkulara ilişkin alt temaların gerçek yaşantıya dayalı olduğu ve çocuğun içinde bulunduğu çevrede günlük yaşamını sürdürürken karşılaşabileceği alt temalar olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu yaşantıların hepsi olumsuzdur ve çocuklar tarafından korku nedeni olarak gösterilmiştir.
