FIELD TESTS OF RESISTANCE TO ABRASIVE WEAR OF PLOUGHSHARES MADE OF BORON STEEL

Abstract
The results of the investigation of durability and ploughshare wear made from three grades of boron steel, Hardox 500, B27 and used by Lemken Company, are presented. During the research, ploughing on sandy soils was done in preparation for subsequent sowing. In order to establish the ploughshare wear, the change of contour, the loss of thickness, the width of the wear band formed on the surface in contact with soil, the roughness of the working surface, and the loss of mass were determined. However, the differences in wear were relatively small, indicating that the abrasion resistance values of the steels under investigation were comparable.
