The analyzed concept is defined as a multi-component complex formation, that consists of sensory-notional and figurative components. The set of conceptual metaphors that form the figurative component of the concept of Canada in the analyzed poetic texts was found. It was found that the scope of the target of the constructed conceptual metaphors has three conceptual sphere of source: “an inanimate object”, “a living being” and “an abstract notion”.
