Figurative means of oppositions' RIGHT/LEFT, STRAIGHT/CROOKED expression in the English language: axiologyand typology

Abstract
In the traditional folk culture language, a term "left" is usually referred to such attributes as weak, wrong, disordered, odd, negative, indirect, fuzzy, illegal, sinful and "right", respectively, being attributed by strong, correct, orderly , paired, positive, straight, clear. The opposition "left-right" associated with the separation of functioning the left and right hands alongside with the asymmetry of the right and left hemispheres of a human brain, appears one of the the world anthropometric assessment by an individual presented in cultural anthropology, ethnography, mythology, art, and architecture. The idea of improper in the folk culture and beliefs describes a subject with normal, standard proportions violated. It is this component of abnormality that forms the basis of many secondary semiotic manifestations of crookedness, lameness and other pejorative assessing connotations, including numerous phraseologisms, proverbs and sayings. The suggested reaearch discusses the specifics of the phrase-semantic and proverb-related content of the opposites right-left, straight-crooked in English and certain East-Slavic languages, the meaning (free and stable word combinations, similes, terminological phrases and corresponding concepts) The article presents the description of the main phrase-semantic groups in compared linguistic cultures.
