Fire Temperature Effect on Value of Input Voltage Powering Electrical Equipment and the Effectiveness of Safety Protection of Equipment Required

Abstract

Fire safety is one of the most important requirements for modern buildings. It is associated with a number of technical requirements to be met at the design stage. Because the most important part of rescue operations is to evacuate people from the building under the fire, the specific requirements emerges for the construction of the building and for the design of the electrical devices and their power supply installations. Among the electrical equipments installed in the building there are circuits supplying the electrical devices, which must function at the time of the fire. Cables of these installations are exposed to high temperature, but must ensure the continuity of the power supply by the time necessary for the operation of the supplied equipment. The accompanying fire temperature decreases the electrical conductivity of the cables, resulting in the deterioration of the quality of supplied electrical energy represented by the excessive voltage drop and in the deterioration of protection of these devices.
