FORCED COOLING OF THE FRICTION UNITS: «HEAT PUMP» EFFECT
Journal Title: Проблеми тертя та зношування - Year 2017, Vol 75, Issue
Abstract
A variety of types of brake devices used in the drives of hoisting and transport machines, road and construction machines, vehicles and in other branches of engineering. Friction pairs of brake devices significantly differ in their design and operational (power and friction work, braking torque, specific loads, braking moments, dynamic friction coefficient, surface and bulk temperatures and their gradients, mechanical and thermal deformations and stresses, etc.) parameters. In these conditions, the energy load of the brake friction pairs plays a decisive role, which affects their efficiency. In this connection, there is a need to reduce the energy load of brake friction pairs by forced cooling. Mechanical energy in the friction of sliding in the pairs of brake systems in the first stage turns into heat. The article is devoted to the theoretical aspects of the heat pump effect in terms of its mode of the expander and the refrigerating unit condenser during the isothermal expansion and the coolant contraction. Exergetic possibilities of the coolant are shown. The features of cooling systems working on the effect of the heat pump are considered. The efficacy of its performance is evaluated.
