Forecasting of the consumption levels of fuel and energy resources in the processing industry with regard for the overall structural potential of energy saving

Abstract

We study the consumption levels of fuel and energy resources to 2040 with regard for count the potentials for energy saving from intrasectional changes in energy-intensive sections, of the economy and the potential for energy saving from intersectional and intrasectional structural changes in the economy. On the example of section "Processing industry" as the most energy intensive, we refine the potential of energy saving from intrasectional structural changes and develop a forecast of economic development and energy consumption of the parts of this section with regard for intersectional and intrasectional structural shifts. These structural shifts form the overall structural potential for energy saving. The results obtained show the necessity to take into account the overall structural potential of energy saving since just the development of certain energy-intensive industries determines the development of a certain sector and the economy of the country as a whole.
