FORESTS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract
People's health is affected by environmental pollution. A special role of the forests is given by combat pollution. Thus, it is considered that the ecological balance can be maintained with the help of forests. An important influence that forests have for health is given by the improvement of the atmosphere and the enrichment of the air. The article analyzes the evolution of the forestry area in Romania. Protecting the forest fund can lead to a decrease in the effects of global warming. However, regardless of the type of cutting, they represent threats that contribute to the manifestation of climate change. Given the possibility to protect soil from landslides as well as to protect watercourses, the article presents both an analysis of cuttings and regenerations.
