Formalization of technology for processing of railcar flows with dangerous goods at railway switchyard stations based on risk exposure

Abstract

The volumes of transportation of dangerous cargoes by railways of Ukraine from year to year only increase. At the same time, the high level of competition in the transport market dictates the need to develop and implement automated technologies for managing the transport process on the railways. Automated technologies for the operational work planning of railway switchyard stations, which are of paramount importance in terms of the needs of the railway industry, should be able to adequately assess the dangers involved in the operation of flows of railcars with dangerous goods and to take them into account when executing operational plan construction procedures. As a basis for the construction of such automated technology, a mathematical model based on the proposed risk exposure criterion, which is a new approach in the field of technical risk management, has been formed. The proposed optimization model, that uses this criterion, corresponds to the classical integral management principle and is suitable for use as a basis for the creation of risk management technologies at railway infrastructure sites, such as switchyard stations, for the operation of railcars with dangerous goods
