FORMATION OF AVIATION MECHANICAL ENGINEERS׳ COGNITIVE COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES DURING THE STUDY OF BASICS OF SYSTEM MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of forming the cognitive component of the professional competences of future aviation mechanical engineers during the study of the basics of maintenance and repair of aircraft. The interpretation of the concepts of "professional competence" including aviation specialists is elucidated. It is determined that the cognitive component of professional competences is basic; its essence is that future aviation mechanical engineers must master the basic knowledge, skills of special disciplines. The emphasis is on the main concepts of the maintenance and repair system. The maintenance is defined as a complex of maintenance operations, maintenance of aircrafts and readiness for flights. The repair is named as a complex of operations on the restoration of the performance of products of functional systems of aircraft or component parts of products. It is known fact, that the system of maintenance and repair is a set of interacting objects and means of maintenance and repair, executors, relevant programs and documentation. The purpose of the maintenance and repair system is to control the technical condition of the technical elements during their service life or the resource before the cancellation, which allows to ensure: the specified level of readiness of the equipment for its intended use, its working capacity in the process of use; minimum expenses of time, labor and facilities for maintenance and repair of the equipment. It is noted that improvement of the process of acquisition of technical knowledge by cadets contributes to the formation of professional competencies regarding the implementation in the future professional activities of technical maintenance, reliability and serviceability of aircraft, preparation for flights, proper flight operation.
