FORMATION OF ICT COMPETENCIES IN FINNISH EDUCATION AS A SYSTEM: DEGREE ANALYSIS

Abstract

In the article on the basis of an analysis of the peculiarities of the Finnish system of education it is determined its degree character: pre-school institutions; comprehensive school (primary school (six years), higher school (three years); upper secondary school or vocational school (three years); higher school (universities and professional higher education institutions). It is proved that the Finnish education system is characterized by the following most important features: high results are combined with a high degree of equality (between students) and the lack of final examinations of general education system. The Finnish education system is very well organized and based on the widespread use of ICT and information networks. Finland identified programming (coding) as the basic standard of 2016, including it in elementary education. Finland became the first country to introduce coding in a fully cross-disciplinary approach. There is no subject such as computer science in the basic school curriculum; information and communication technologies have been integrated into all subjects since the first grade. At each lesson, students learn how to search for information and become active users of ICT. It was determined by the author that the main factor in the reform of education are Finnish teachers. The analysis of educational programs of training of the teacher gave the chance to find out that the educational program of preparation of the student-the bachelor includes development of the module at the choice “Information and communication technologies” in volume of 4 credits, assumes ability of the future teacher. The master’s educational program includes the study of the discipline “Information communication technologies in management and consulting”, for which 5 credits are devoted, and the ICT competence of the University graduate is clearly defined.
