FORMATION OF NATIONAL-CULTURAL IDENTITY OF THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE IN THE PROCESS OF GLOBAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF UKRAINIAN SOCIETY

Abstract
The process of forming the national-cultural identity of the Ukrainian people in the process of global transformations is researched. There are a number of factors that make it possible to analyze the preconditions and prospects of this process. Among the prerequisites and factors of the formation is the long existence of Ukraine in an unsustainable state, since the population was influenced by other national cultures. Apart from these, other factors influencing the formation of cultural identity, including the post-colonial socio-cultural heritage and globalization processes, arose as Ukrainians gained independence. It is emphasized that the tendency of perception of the European system of values, as opposed to postcolonial attitudes, should rally and strengthen the Ukrainian nation with its pivotal cultural tradition.
