Forms of Person's Self-Realization – St. Augustine's Response

Abstract

It is alleged that in the anthropological doctrine of St. Augustine the concept of the good potential, constructive confidence in the future transformation of the individual and humanity as a spiritual community dominate. The doctrine states that all forms of terrestrial life are united by the God's loving gift and, therefore, there is a vita activa, and at the trivial level life forms are divided into vita activa, vita contemplative and a mixed one. They are dynamic, interdependent and complementary forms of self-realization which are chosen individually, and which form an atmosphere of personal and social concordia.
