FRAMEWORK FOR EROSION CONTROL MEASURES IN PROTECTED AREAS

Abstract
Erosion control is essential for nature conservation and this research proposes a framework for erosion control in protected areas. It presents a management approach for Bulgarian national and nature parks, based on erosion control process of three stages – planning and organization, practical measures and monitoring for constant maintenance and enhancement of the environmental conditions. The stages are consecutive and repetitive, composing the structure of a development mechanism. Additionally, they are preceded by investigation as a preliminary stage, which is fundamental for the whole procedure. The research uses the methods of scientific analysis, synthesis and modeling
