Abstract

`Disc prolapse amounts for 5% of lower back disorders. Intervertebral disc prolapse can be treated conservatively or surgically. The intervertebral disc is subject to continuous and progressive degenerative changes throughout life, L3,L4,L5 showing greatest degree of degeneration. Clinical features can be discussed under three headings:
