FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICITY OF NON-VERBAL EXPLICATION OF NEGATION IN UKRAINIAN LINGUA-CULTURAL SPACE

Abstract
The article reveals the status and the place of non-verbal explication of negation in the system of representatives in the category of negation, differences between verbal and non-verbal means of negation are defined, highly specialized, peripheral nature of non-verbal means of negation is proved. The object of the study is based on Ukrainian gestures, facial expressions, and gestures with the help of which speakers transmit signals correlated with the negative content. Their functional load and peculiarities of their application in different communicative situations are also determined. The types of communicative acts that Ukrainians often realize with the help of negational gestures, facial expressions and body movements are described. Reasoned opinion on the close interaction of verbal and non-verbal expression of negation, the basic principles of their functional correlation are determined, tendency to displaying non-verbal means of expressing negation in verbal ones and isolated cases of influence of linguistic negation exponents on the extralinguistic ones are noted.
