Fuzzy-Genetic Approach for Prediction of the Energy Consumption in Machining
Journal Title: Machine Design - Year 2018, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
The energy consumption in a computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining process was is analysed in this study. Experimental measurements were performed on the CNC lathe in order to collect the data for statistical analysis. The combined method of fuzzy and genetic algorithm (fuzzy-GA) was applied to the data resulting from these measurements to make prediction of the energy consumption in a computer CNC lathe. Four inputs were considered in this investigation: spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut and width of cut. As the fuzzy-GA output, cutting energy (CE) value, was considered.
