ҐЕНДЕРНІ ОСОБЛИВОСТІ МОТИВАЦІЇ СТУДЕНТІВ ДО ЗАНЯТЬ ФІЗИЧНОЮ КУЛЬТУРОЮ І СПОРТОМ

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of motivation peculiarities of students to сlasses of physical culture and sports in the context of gender differences to create positive incentives to the process of physical education in establishments of higher education. The study involved first and second year students of the main department of the national University of Dnipro named after Oles Gonchar. All the students under research in their free time at will attended sports sections on the basis of the higher education establishments. Students were asked to answer questions about their attitude to physical culture and sports, as well as psychological testing by the method of S. Boehm to identify the psychological gender type was held. Psychological testing showed that among boys 70% of androgynous and 30% masculine psychological types are determined,among girls there are 60% androgynous and 40% feminine psychological types. The predominance of students with androgynous psychological type indicates the ability of students to be more flexible in choosing behavioral roles: depending on external circumstances, a person can choose a more “male” or more “female” model of behavior. The results of the survey showed that the priority motives for going on physical education and sports among boys and girls attending sports sections in higher education establishments depend on the gender psychological type. For young men of masculine type, the main motive is to increase physical fitness (83%), for young men of androgynous type – to achieve a harmonious stature (92%), for girls of feminine type – to achieve a harmonious stature (100%), for girls of androgynous type – to increase physical fitness (83%). While studying obstacles to physical education and sports, it was shown that the greatest motivation for them is observed among girls of androgynous type. On the second place in the rating there are young men of masculine type, on the third – young men of androgynous type. The least motivated to classes of physical culture and sport are girls of the feminist type. Gender differences in the motivation of students to engage them in physical education and sports will be used to develop a differentiated approach to the methodology of physical education in higher education establishments.
