GENERAL SCIENTIFIC TERMS IN A TEXT OF LITERARY STUDIES

Abstract
The article analyses the peculiarities of functioning of general scientific terms in scientific texts of literary studies. It has been ascertained that general scientific terms undergo a certain kind of adaptation in the context of literary studies, since very often such kinds of term units do not lose their meaning. A scientist uses the general scientific meanings of these terms in combination with those used in literary studies, and such a term unit gets a new sense, connected more with literary studies, science and arts, rather than a general scientific one. It is concluded that in the context of the semantic field of literary studies a general scientific term performs an organizing function.
