Genetic Diversity of 13 Maize (Zea mays L.) Hybrids based on multivariate Analysis Methods

Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 5

Abstract

Awareness of genetic diversity is the base of the most plant breeding programs. In this research genetic diversity of 13 of maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids was evaluated based on morphological traits as a randomized complete block design with three replications.. the analysis of variance showed that among hybrids have significant differences in all of morphological treats. According to cluster analysis with UPGMA method, all of hybrids were grouped into 4 major groups with cophenetic coefficient of 0.8 Principal component analysis (PCA) shows that 2 first components justified 94.63% of total variance. Clustering pattern obtained from two first components principal componenet analysis almost confirmed the cluster analysis grouped. We wish, genetic diversity find out used in breeding programs of maize.
