Geometric and Kinematic Analysis of the Turbulence Intensity of Convex Wall Jets

Abstract

The turbulence intensity in wall jets, laid on a convex surface due to the Coanda effect, is determined on the basis of the geometric and kinematic analysis. The obtained maximum turbulence intensity in a section corresponds to the known experimental data. It was revealed that the known Coanda effect phenomenon – reduced turbulence intensity – is caused by medium-scale and small-scale vortices
