GIANT RESPONSE OF MICROBUBBLE CONTRAST AGENTS OSCILLATION IN A HIGH-INTENSITY FOCUSED ULTRASOUND FIELD
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2013, Vol 58, Issue 3
Abstract
The interaction of microbubble contrast agents (BR14) with high-intensity focused ultrasound is investigated by high-speed photography. The experiments were conducted at an ultrasound frequency of 1.08 MHz with a peak negative pressure of 1.8 MPa. The microbubble oscillations run on a giant response with a long expansion phase followed by a violent collapse. The implications in high-intensity focused ultrasound surgery are also discussed.

APPLICATION OF CANONICAL REPRESENTATIONS TO RANDOM VIBRATIONS OF MDOF LINEAR SYSTEMS
In this paper is presented the canonical representations method for analyzing the random vibrations of a multiple degrees of freedom linear system. The general method is exemplified in the case of a two degrees of freedo...
NONLINEAR ANALYSIS AND IMPROVED DESIGN OF SINGLE-SIDED BONDED PATCH REPAIRS
This paper presents a relatively simple and effective procedure to design single-sided adhesively bonded patch repairs in the case of cracked plates in tension. Starting from analytical relations presented in the literat...
