INFLUENCE OF BOUNDARY CONDITION ON CHANNEL SECTION COLUMN BEHAVIOUR
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2018, Vol 63, Issue 3
Abstract
The FEM-based, numerical study of the influence of the boundary conditions on distorsional lateral buckling phenomena during bending of cold formed steel bars with different channel sections have been performed. Beams with lip channel crosssection, channel cross-section and top-hat cross-section had been analysed. Six different boundary conditions were examined for each cross-section to check their influence on buckling load with corresponding buckling mode and describe the thin-walled beam behaviour. The proposed model of boundary conditions has been assumed the same as in other papers, where the obtained results have been compared with those obtained based on other analytical-numerical methods or within experimental tests.

OPTIMAL AUXILIARY FUNCTIONS METHOD FOR THIN FILM FLOW OF A FOURTH GRADE FLUID DOWN A VERTICAL CYLINDER
A new approximate analytical procedure namely the Optimal Auxiliary Functions Method (OAFM) is proposed and has been applied to thin film flow of a fourth grade fluid down a vertical cylinder. The main advantage of our a...
ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC NOISE FROM A MAIN ROAD CROSSING A CITY
The impact of road traffic on the environment is practically determined by a calculation procedure. Reliable calculation results require reliable sources determination. The theme of this study was to prepare the noise ma...
MOTION RECOVERY OF PARALLEL MANIPULATORS USING GENERALIZED INVERSE AND PARTITIONED JACOBIAN MATRIX
In this paper, the motion recovery of parallel manipulators due to joint failure is addressed. The failed joints have either zero velocities, locked joints, or nonzero velocities which are different from the desired velo...
LIMIT STRAINS VARIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO MATERIAL SCATTER
In this paper a study regarding to the effect of the variability of the mechanical parameters on the prediction of the limit strain have been presented. The necking criterion used in the analyses is the one proposed by M...
