Gingival Veneer for Esthetic Smile

Journal Title: Indian Journal of Dental Advancements - Year 2016, Vol 8, Issue 1

Abstract

Gingival recession or soft tissue defect leaves unappealing black triangles between the teeth in the esthetic region. Altered linguo alveolar and labio-dental consonant sound production may also occur when severe recession is present involving multiple teeth. Gingival veneer is a conservative method of managing extensively recessed periodontal tissues. In such situations, an acrylic resin gingival veneer proves to be a feasible and simple prosthesis to optimize the esthetic and functional outcome of the treatment.
