GLOBAL IMPACT OF E-COMMERCE ON SOCIETY

Abstract

E-commerce is a new channel within the traditional trade supported by information-based computer technologies, and enables transactions between sellers and buyers on electronic platform. World Wide Web is the most widely used e-commerce platform, but many technologies are developing on a daily basis. E-commerce is no longer a choice but a need. The transition from traditional to e-commerce completely transforms the behavior of companies and end-users. Globally connect, enable cost savings and increase delivery speed. It influences the overall process of globalization, the transfer of knowledge and the development of information technologies and innovations. In addition, it plays an important role in the progress of marketing and job creation. The advantages of e-commerce are numerous, and users can make transactions 24 hours, 7 days a week with ongoing online support. In this way, companies continuously monitor their satisfaction and loyalty. E-commerce is not limited to transactions between businesses and consumers, but also helps companies to make contacts and cooperation each other all over the world. Advanced logistics support and transport opportunities, enables significantly revenue increases. From day to day, the number of new customers and new markets increases without significant investments. Reduced costs represent a good basis for greater competitive advantage and better positioning on the market. The aim of this paper is to show the growth of e-commerce and its impact on productivity, efficiency, job creation, and the overall economic growth of the country. In addition, it will show the state of electronic commerce in the Republic of Macedonia, the barriers and challenges that exist, as well as the conditions for developing a national strategy for the development of electronic commerce. This analysis will enable companies to see the real state of electronic commerce in the Republic of Macedonia, to be part in online sales and take advantages of all the positive aspects that it offers.
