ГРЯЗЕВЫЕ ВУЛКАНЫ ШАМАХИ-ГОБУСТАНСКОГО НЕФТЕГАЗОНОСНОГО РАЙОНА И МЕХАНИЗМ ИХ ОБРАЗОВАНИЯ

Abstract
Shamakhi-Gobustan depression is one of the areas where mud volcanoes are the most wide-spread. From morphological point of view the mud volcanoes become larger in this area from the north towards the south. This, in turn, is related to the structural, tectonic and geodynamic environment and lithofacies properties of the sedimentary mantle section of the region where the area is located in. Mud volcanoes generation mechanism is directly related to geodynamic processes and they are indicators of the compressive stress within the sedimentary mantle.
