Abstract
Komishova T.P. System of didactic games as a means of forming skills for reading junior pupils. The article deals with the problem of forming reading skills in elementary school students in accordance with the requirements of the new State standard. The author identifies effective approaches to teaching reading of junior schoolchildren, and proposes a system of didactic games aimed at developing pupils' skills in such characteristics of reading activity as: consciousness, correctness, speed, expressiveness and way of reading.
