Groove Pancreatitis: Characteristic CT Findings

Abstract

Groove pancreatitis is a rare and distinct entity characterized by inflammation and fibrosis affecting pancreaticoduodenal groove with or without changes involving pancreatic head. Two forms of groove pancreatitis have been described in literature, pure and segmental. Involvement of Pancreaticoduoedenal groove is seen in both forms with additional involvement of pancreatic head in segmental form. Here we are presenting a case of segmental form, describing characteristic CT findings.
