GROUNDWATER FLOW MODELS CREDIBILITY AS THE CRITERION OF MODELS CLASSIFICATION
Journal Title: Biuletyn Państwowego Instytutu Geologicznego - Year 2010, Vol 442, Issue 442
Abstract
In the article attempt at groundwater flow models credibility classification was made. 14 hydrogeological models built by the author of the article were taken to preliminary analysis. These are models of groundwater appearing in porous Cenozoic and Cretaceous rocks, mainly found in the area of north Poland. Examined parameters of the model were the calibration errors (mean absolute error), a water balance error, modeling area, model scale and number of hydrogeological boreholes analyzed in model construction. On the basis of this data a preliminary image of diversifying the models accuracy was shown, in the next stage it was divided into models credibility classes. Established classes of the models credibility can be helpful in analyzing every single model calculations accuracy. Depending on the scale of the model and groundwater occurring conditions the model accuracy can differ. Described classification is preliminary, and in the next stage data from large number of models should be analyzed.
