Hafif Silahlarda Kullanılan Farklı Kesit Profiline Sahip Yerine Getiren Yayların Yorulma Davranışlarının İncelenmesi / Investigation of Fatigue Behavior of Performing Springs with Distinct Cross-section Profiles Used in Light Weapons
Journal Title: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Üniversitesi Fen ve Mühendislik Bilimleri Dergisi / Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Journal of Science and Engineering - Year 2020, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
It is important to carry out studies since the performance of small arms has been improved in recent years. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of flat wire springs, which have been increasingly used in recent years, instead of circular cross section springs used in weapon production, and to increase the spring performances of guns and thus gun performances with the results of the experiments. With the findings obtained as a result of the study carried out in line with this purpose, it is aimed to contribute to the defense industry knowledge of our country by closing a gap in the literature. In the light weapons industry, it has been observed that the use of fulfilling springs made of flat wire has increased in recent years as an alternative to the fulfillment springs produced from circular section wires. In this study, the performing spring used in the semi-automatic pistol, which is the most common of the small arms group, was designed as a round and flat wire spring, and sample production was carried out. In order to evaluate the life and performance of the springs, compression, fatigue and life tests were applied, and the changes in both springs were examined. According to the test results, the losses seen in the L0 (free length), P1 (upper working range spring force) and P2 (lower working range spring force) values of the flat wire springs are less than the round wire springs and the flat wire springs have higher performance depending on the operating conditions. It is concluded that they show. It has been observed that the performance losses occurring especially in P1 values are much higher in round wire springs.
