Heart rate recovery during treadmill test in Silent Myocardial ischemic and non-ischemic type 2 Diabetes patients
Journal Title: Scholars Journal of Applied Medical Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 5
Abstract
Abstract: Myocardial ischemia occurs when myocardial oxygen supply cannot meet myocardial oxygen demand. Silent Myocardial Ischemia (S.M.I.) is defined as objective documentation of myocardial ischemia in the absence of angina or angina equivalents. Heart rate recovery can be defined as the rate at which the HR declines from either maximal or submaximal exercise to resting levels. The present study compare the heart rate recovery at 1 minute post-exercise in S.M.I. and non ischemic type 2 diabetes patients during T.M.T.150 type 2 diabetic patients were taken and they undergone T.M.T.Present study observed that heart rate recovery in S.M.I. group was significantly lower than heart rate recovery in non-ischemic group. So it can be concluded that slow heart rate recovery in S.M.I. groupcould be due to autonomic nervous system dysfunction. A Prospective Study to Assess Changes in Pulmonary Function Tests in Patients of Spinal Deformity Treated by Halo-Pelvic Traction
Abstract:Respiratory function of patients with spinal deformities is likely to be abnormal and treatment is a surgical challenge in the presence of deranged pulmonary function. Halo-pelvic traction is a valuable alternat...
A study to correlate level of thrombocytopenia with dengue seropositive patients and frequency of bleeding pattern
Thrombocytopenia is the major determinant of severity of dengue infection but bleeding may present with any number of platelet count among thrombocytopenic patients. The main objective in this study to correlate level of...
Carotid Intima Media Thickness in Diabetic and Non Diabetic Subjects: A Study from Rural Hospital
Atherosclerosis typically occurs over a period of many years, usually many decades. After a generally prolonged “silent” period, atherosclerosis may become clinically manifest. Evaluation of intima media thickness is con...
Study of Pulse Wave Velocity and Ankle Brachial Index in different age-groups and their role in assessment of early atherosclerotic risk
A total of 240 subjects of different age groups were studied for detection of early atherosclerotic risk by measuring their Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) and Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) with the help of Vascular Profiler (VP-...
Xeroderma Pigmentosum: Case Series
Abstract: Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive disease. It is caused due to defect in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) repair. Eye involvement is seen in 80% of cases. XP patients have intolerance for sunl...
