Holistic Security Model for Mobile Database in Nigeria
Journal Title: American journal of Engineering Research - Year 2016, Vol 5, Issue 7
Abstract
Due to proliferation on the usage of mobile computing devices such as mobile phones, smart phones, Tablet PCs and Portable Digital Assistant (PDA) in Nigeria and world over, it is expected that these light-weight, powerful, low-cost computing devices will pave way for data-driven applications in mobile environments. These portal mobile devices can be connected to corporate database and application servers so that application processing can take place at any time and from anywhere. This can throw up a lot of security challenges. Hackers, malicious programs and rival firms can penetrate the corporate servers through various security holes or vulnerabilities. This paper examines these security holes that can emanate from three major windows- the mobile device, the mobile network and the corporate database server and critically x-rays various solutions that can ward them off in order to protect critical data from attack, eavesdropping, disruption, destruction and modification. This paper finally proposes a holistic security model to protect corporate mobile database in Nigeria. Keywords:

Mitigating multimedia call failure in CDMA networks
It is very challenging to effectively mitigate call failures while maintaining the quality of service (qos) in the mobile networks. Interestingly, more efforts have been channeled towards voice calls management. In this...
Influence of Alkali Concentration on Strength Characteristic of GGBS Based Geopolymer Mortar
The use of alternative non-cementing materials as cement replacement material can overcome the environmental issues, especially the global warming problem caused by the emission of greenhouse gases due to the manufacturi...
Mapping and Assessment of Soil Loss in Berrechid Plain Using a Gis And the Universal Soil Loss Equation (Usle)
Soil and water are basic resources. Their exploitation or development is a matter of survival for many, an escape from poverty for most, and an opportunity to pursue additional power, wealth and selfish interest for some...
Why Unified Statistics Theory by MCMC towards Estimation of Stationary Triple Probabilities of Any Markov Chain?
Unified statistics theory by MCMC is considered. A new proposed algorithm is presented to obtain surely empirical analysis conclusions in order to turn to surely theoretical analysis results about stationary triple proba...
