Homeopathy as a complementary therapy: perspectives on its use for discussion
Journal Title: Más Vita - Year 2020, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Homeopathy, is assumed as a therapeutic method that was born on the European continent in the twilight of the eighteenth century, promoted in correspondence to the initiatives and observations of the German doctor Samuel C. Hahnemann. Its study is significant, by virtue of its great acceptance, even in countries that characterize it as complementary medicine, despite the disagreement between followers and detractors. Objective: The purpose of this review implies the study of the visions of homeopathy as complementary therapy from a theoretical approach for its discussion. Methodology: It is a descriptive documentary research, supported by bibliographic and digital review. Results: There are conflicting positions regarding the applicability of homeopathy inthe health area. However, there are numerous studies and experiences that support both approaches. Furthermore, they highlight that even though Hahnemann's postulates in the origins of Homeopathy are considered relevant, at present, it seems to travel in many cases for livelihoods that are oriented to the commercial sense, which is why, within the defending group, they warn of this situation, to avoid new obstacles to the already difficult journey of this therapy. Recommendation: The discussion seems endless, however, it can be inferred that, despite the popular acceptance and the evidence presented by many professional homeopathy practitioners, its importance and integration and applicability in health systems, even, will depend on the convergence of the academic community
