How do Tourists Visit Art Museums? A Classification Proposal

Abstract

Purpose. The article is an analysis of touristic behaviour in art museums – motivation, aims, ways of visiting museums and treating art, etc. The outlined classification is based on roles which visitors can uptake at a museum. The empirical material implies the seriousness with which the visits are undertaken.
