HOW TO COMBINE MANE (AN ORIGINAL CAD ASSISTANT FOR CAR BODY DESIGN) WITH TESTING METHODS TO REINVENT THE URBAN CAR

Abstract
The automobile signifies freedom of movement within cities but in the future it requires a radical reinvention. MANE program which is based on an algorithm developed by the author allows a fast and simple ergonomic evaluation of the car cockpit for each new proposal made by the stylist. To reduce the size of the cockpit the author proposes the concept of quasi-vertical driving position. Based on this principle there were made a series of tests on two types of stands using two types of seats adapted to provide quasi-vertical working positions. This promises to be a future solution to provide comfortable travel conditions and in addition to significantly reduce the length of the vehicle.
