Human Rights and Human Cloning

Abstract
Abstract Some opponents of human cloning regard it as wrong and unethical from a human rights perspective giving some reasons to prove their view. One is that each human being has the right to have his/her own human identity and individuality distinct from other individuals, but human cloning is a violation of this natural right for two reasons: firstly, the identity of a human being which is created through a nonsexual process will be damaged never thereafter he/she being regarded as a complete human being. This is obviously a violation of his/her human rights. Secondly, a human being created through cloning is merely a “copy” of some one else and this is a violation of his/her right to be unique and different. Hence, from a human rights perspective, human cloning violates man’s rights due to two reasons: damage of human identity and violation of the right to be unique. Attempting to clarify the nature of human cloning, this article examines the aspects to be claimed to violate human rights and evaluates the strength of the reasons for this claim. چکيده برخي از مخالفان شبيهسازي، آن را به لحاظ حقوق بشري نادرست و غير اخلاقي ميدانند و براي اثبات ديدگاه خود به دلايلي تمسك مي¬جويند؛ از جمله آنكه هر انساني حق دارد هويت و فرديت انساني متفاوت و متمايز از ديگران داشته باشد. شبيهسازي، نقض اين حق طبيعي است؛ به دو دليل: نخست آنکه هويت انساني که از طريق غير جنسي پديد ميآيد، مخدوش خواهد شد و ديگر نميتوان به او به چشم يک انسان کامل نگريست. دوم آنکه انساني که از اين طريق توليد ميشود، نسخة بدل انساني ديگر است و اين نقض حق متفاوت بودن و منحصربه¬فرد بودن است. به اين ترتيب، از منظر حقوق بشري، شبيهسازي انساني به دو دليل نادرست و ناقض حقوق انساني است: نقض هويت انساني و ديگري نقض منحصر بودن و يگانگي فرد. مقاله حاضر ميکوشد با توضيح ماهيت شبيهسازي انساني، مواردي را که ادعا ميشود مخالف حقوق بشر است بررسي نمايد و قوت ادلهاي را که از اين منظر در مخالفت با آن ارائه شده، بسنجد. واژگان کليدي: حقوق بشر؛ شبيهسازي انساني؛ هويت انساني؛ حق متفاوت بودن.
