ЯЗИЧНИЦЬКІ СВЯТА УКРАЇНСЬКОГО НАРОДУ: ТРАДИЦІЯ І СЬОГОДЕННЯ

Abstract
In the article based on the source material the process of existence and establishment of religious cults is considered which for the Ukrainian people were a general tendency and a factor of cultural self-preservation. In the course of the study it was discovered that ancient pagan holidays were built on a sunny basis and carried magical-religious and economic character. It was established that all pagan celebrations took place according to the annual cycle and corresponded to the seasons of the year, on the basis of which the transformational changes of the religious holidays of the Ukrainian people were traced. The research highlights the main religious elements of pagan holidays in particular, which made it possible to see the pagan mark in the modern Christian religion of Ukrainians. The author succeeded in showing the remnants of pagan beliefs preserved in the Ukrainian traditional culture through the prism of the Christian outlook and the causes of this phenomenon. The paper highlights the religious roots and the process of revival of national holidays, traditions, customs, which for today remained only a pagan echo for the Ukrainian people.
