Ichtiofauna strumienia Flis na tle cieków nizinnych o podobnej wielkości

Abstract
In October 2013 electrofishing was conducted at five sites located in the Flis Stream (tributary of the Brda River), which partially flows across the City of Bydgoszcz, in order to determine species composition, abundance and biomass of fish communities. These data types were used in a comparison of ichthyofauna between the Flis Stream and other lowland streams of similar size. In cluster analysis all 15 streams were grouped into four clusters on the basis of species composition. The cluster including the Flis Stream and other moderately transformed streams was characterized by relatively high biodiversity and the largest number of rheophilous species. Such a situation is unique in the case of small streams flowing through urban areas, because they are particularly vulnerable to human pressure and their fish fauna is usually limited to the most resilient, ubiquitous species.
