ICT Infrastructure in the Central Libraries of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India: A Study

Abstract
The current paper discusses about the use of ICT infrastructure in the Central Libraries of Indian Institutes of Technology in India. The study explores the total sitting capacity of the users in the library, use of library management software, use of security system, library network, use of browser, network system software, internet connectivity and antivirus.IITKanpur has the maximum numbers of sitting capacity for users. 62.50% IITs are using Libsys software. All the IITs are using DSpace institutional repository software for archiving their intellectual work. Most (87.50%) of the IITs are using CCTV Security System and 75% IIT Libraries haveLocal Area Network. All the IITs are using Google Chrome and Most (81.25%) of the IIT libraries are using LINUX operating system. 75% IIT Libraries are using Wi-Fi for the internet.
