The professional and scientific activities of Ignacy Dominik Fijałkowski (1783-1855), an eminent Warsaw military physician and obstetrician are reported widely. In his textbook of military surgery “The origin of surgery” Fijałkowski presented instrument on posterior tamponade of nase.
