Imaging Techniques for Prostate Cancer – A Review

Journal Title: The Indian Practitioner - Year 2014, Vol 67, Issue 7

Abstract

Prostate cancer is the 2nd most common cancer among males & is the 6th leading cause of cancer death.1 Mortality due to prostate cancer is low in Asian countries compared to their western counterparts. Increasing age is one of the few established risk factors for the development of prostate cancer. As the life expectancy increases in the developing Asian nations, as has been seen over the past decade, the incidence of detection of prostatic cancer has also increased.
